We're sorry to see that your custom version of Portfolium on your school's website isn't working. Just always remember, we're here for you by phone or email anytime to help with configuration.

Please feel free to email us at support@portfolium.com .

To set up your custom version of Portfolium on your school's website, please have your IT department do the following:

  1. Create a CNAME record for "portfolios.YOURDOMAIN.edu" and point it to "portfolium.com".
  2. Depending on the TTL settings on your DNS, wait up to 24-hours then open the URL http://portfolios.YOURDOMAIN.edu in your favorite browser (usually DNS updates work within 30 minutes).
  3. Create a hyperlink to http://portfolios.YOURDOMAIN.edu on your school's website

To help troubleshoot what's going on, please run the following command (these instructions are meant for Linux/OSX based systems).

host -t cname portfolios.YOURDOMAIN.edu

You should see something like:

portfolios.YOURDOMAIN.edu is an alias for portfolium.com.

If you see something like the following message, that means the DNS configuration for the CNAME record was not properly configured:

Host portfolios.calpoly.edu not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

Lets use CSU Cal Poly as an example:

host -t cname portfolios.calpoly.edu

portfolios.calpoly.edu is an alias for portfolium.com.

We can't wait to see Portfolium live on your school's website!
